INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO HUAWEI NETWORK ACADEMY, UNITECH CYBER PARK
Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized an Industrial Visit to Huawei India for Forty five Students of IV & VI Semester accompanied by faculty members, Mr. Mahipal Bhukya, Assistant Professor and Ms. Charu Jain, Assistant Professor on 16 March 2015. Huawei India deals in telecommunication equipment and network solutions. It connects global customers via voice, data, multimedia and WLAN. Its telecom network equipment, IT products and solutions, and smart devices are used in 170 countries. With an annual sales revenue of USD39.6 billion in 2013, Huawei is ranked 285th on the Global Fortune 500 list.
Mr. Manish Goyal, Manager, Huawei delivered a lecture on practical implementation of Network Technology in industry. He described the working model of telecom infrastructure in India. He also described the basic building blocks of Communication Technology in the industry (ICT) and difference between 2G, 3G and 4G. He demonstrated the working and application of Wireless system; Introduction to transmission focusing on Types of data transmission, Hardware and Software requirements, Datacom, Router, Switches, Security and Firewall; Cloud Computing elaborating upon the Importance of cloud computing in ICT; and Core Network. The lecture provided very significant knowledge about Telecom services.
After the lecture, hands on practice for the working of Internet Communication Technology (ICT) was showcased. They also showed the various project modules used in industry. The practical session motivated the students to come up with innovative and industry oriented projects on Internet communication Technology (ICT).
Overall, the visit was a very informative as it provides the students an opportunity to have a closer look at Communication Technology in the industry (ITC) as well as exposed them to the practical implementation of Internet Technology.
