Mentoring provides students emotional and instrumental support, guidance, encouragement and better environment. A mentor plays a vital role in nurturing students and has a positive impact on students’ persistence and academic achievement.
Prof. (Dr.) Isha Malhotra expressed need to focus on making products which have significance in everyday life and therefore are relevant to the industry. The motivation provided to the students by the Principal allowed young children to get a chance to work with tools and equipment to understand the concepts of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). During the interaction, mentors documented their observations and also developed a shared action plan to guide the students to enhance their professional growth.
The meet was an effective system that aimed to narrow down the gap between the mentee and the mentor and thereby the society in general. To cope up with such problems and to enable them to excel in academics and profession, proper guidance was provided to all the participating students.
The initiative fostered the culture of ideation, innovation, entrepreneurship, creative thinking, design thinking, prototyping, out-of-box thinking, and IP commercialization by facilitating the training (for teachers), field visits, leadership talks, awareness, orientation sessions, boot camps, national-level exhibitions, hackathons, skill modules, new courses for students, linking of school innovation ecosystem with Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs), etc. at schools. The sessions were enriching, informative and educational leaving everyone excited, inspired and motivated.
