National Voters' Day

NSS Units, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram organized engaging and impactful events to mark the occasion of “National Voters’ Day” on 25th January 2024. The theme for 2024 NVD is ‘Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure’ is dedicated to voters which conveys individual’s feeling and aspiration towards participation in the electoral process through power of their vote. Students participated in the events enthusiastically.
Every year on January 25th, India celebrates National Voter's Day to commemorate the foundation day of the Election Commission of India (ECI) and to encourage informed and active participation in the electoral process. The main objective for the NVD celebration was to encourage, facilitate and maximize enrolment, especially for the new voters. Dedicated to the voters of the country, the day is utilized to spread awareness among voters and for promoting informed participation in the electoral process.

- Online quiz on‘Nothing Like Voting, I Vote For sure’ on “National Voters Day.
- Voter Registration Camp
The celebration commenced with an informative session on the electoral process by Dr. Anupam Dalal (NSS, PO). After the inspirational word, faculty members, staff members and students under the guidance of Prof.( Dr.) Isha Malhotra (Principal, DCE) took pledge to always vote, pledged to uphold the values of democracy, exercise their voting rights responsibly, and contribute to building a stronger nation.
Next quiz Competition was organized to test students' knowledge about the Indian electoral system and national leaders. Teams from different departments battled it out, answering questions on topics ranging from the history of elections in India to the qualifications and responsibilities of elected officials.
To ensure maximum student participation in the upcoming elections, a voter registration camp was set up in collaboration with the local election office. Students were assisted with the voter registration process, and information about voter eligibility and identification documents was provided.
The celebration of NVD raised awareness about the importance of voting, provided students with essential information about the electoral process, and encouraged them to engage in informed and responsible participation in the democratic process.
