“Hit Refresh- In Conversation with Satya Nadella”

5 students of MIC, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon namely Vertika (MSP) - 18181, Nitin Manocha (MSP) - 18110, Prakriti (MSP) - 18117, Shweta - 18162, Pranav - 18118 attended the event Hit Refresh - In Conversation with Satya Nadella on 7th November 2017 at JW Marriott Aerocity Hotel, New Delhi in which Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft talked about his book Hit Refresh. Vertika was also the part of Crew members in the organizing team.
The event started with the panel discussion which included Vivek Prabhakar, CEO and co-founder of Chumbak, Swati Bhargava, co-founder of CashKaro, Vishal Gondal, CEO and founder of GOQii. Host for the panel discussion was Priyadarshi Mohapatra, Country General Manager, Consumer & Devices, and Microsoft India. All the panel members discussed their journey.
After panel discussion, Satya Nadella, CEO Microsoft discussed his book Hit Refresh with Indian Cricket legend Anil Kumble. The event featured the conversation between the two the “Hit Refresh” moment that have transformed their lives. Mr. Satya shared his views on future technologies that will impact the society and the world of sports as well. Mr. Satya talked to Anil the leadership skills he learnt at the pitch which he use today as a CEO- to compete vigorously and with passion in the face of uncertainty, putting the team first and bringing out the best in them. They also discussed the positive impact of intelligent technology on cricket and how technology will redefine players as well as viewers.
Hit Refresh was launched on 26th September 2017. Satya Nadella will donate all his proceeds from Hit Refresh to Microsoft Philanthropies. In Hit Refresh, Mr. Satya delves into three key technologies that will lead to massive shift in our economy and society- Mixed reality, Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing. These three currently independent thread will converge in the near future where Quantum Computing making Artificial Intelligence more Intelligent and Mixed Reality even more immersive. He also explores the values, ethics, policies and economics that needs to be considered in preparation for this next wave.
The session was encouraging for the students.
