ENTREPRENEURSHIP AWARENESS CAMP
15th to 17th November, 2016
Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon in association withEntrepreneurship Development Institute, Ahmedabad organized Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp (EAC) from15th to 17th November, 2016 with an objective to cover different parts of business enterprise.
Day 1: Industrial Visit:
An Industrial Visit to Aptron Solutions Pvt. Ltd. on 15th November 2016. Seventy five students from CSE, departments, along with Mr. Amar Saraswat, Assistant Professor, CSE Department went to Aptron Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Gurgaon for visit.
The main objective for the visit was to provide industry exposure to students about Cisco Networking.
Day 2: Classroom Activity:
On second day of the camp the students were engaged in interactive activities. The event comprised of thirty minute presentation on “Prologue to Entrepreneurship” in which the E-leaders explained the importance of Entrepreneurship to the students and sparked up their minds to come up with new and innovative business ideas of their own. Then the E-leaders also enlightened them how entrepreneurship differs from a business with substantial existing examples. The workshop led to a very interactive session with the students’ and E-leaders later directed the "Thought Generation" movement with the students.
In the Idea Generation activity each of the students were asked to come up with an idea that they think could be developed into a successful business idea and can be pursued further. They were given a couple of examples as how one can think beyond his horizon to initiate something new as a business. Further, total time of 20 minutes to think about and process their idea. After the brainstorming each student shared their ideas with the entire class and their class voted for the ideas that came up. The 3 Ideas that stood out gaining the maximum number of votes were rewarded with a small prize. Then queries of the students were dealt with as to what should be the factors while pursuing your idea and what are the domains one should restrict to while coming with an idea .
Day 3: Seminar:
On the third day of EAC a seminar on “DIGITAL MARKETING” was organized for students. Mr. Mainak Uprety, Branch Head of Aptron Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Gurgaon was invited as the guest for seminar.
The session began with the introduction of processes involved in Digital Marketing: Visibility, Bringing Targeted Traffic, Engagement, Conversions, Measurement, Retention-Services and Recommendations. All these processes were discussed in detail with the students.
Students were made aware of Search Engine Optimization with the help of which they can enhance the ranking of their websites in Google’s search list. In this part Mainak told them about the process of SEO. It takes place through crawlers who pass on the data to Google Main Program (GMP) which contain all the algorithms responsible for site ranking. Students were taught about how to bring crawlers to their website, what is Google web Master, what are ping services, Frequency driven crawling and dedicated crawlers.
Students were taught about adding the traffic on their sites. Using Adsons how can they allow Advertisements to get their place on their websites? How paid advertisements are done in a digital way and how can we reach a larger society in specified and reasonable amount. Students were also taught about how advertisements are done on Facebook and what are their relevance and how can they be more effective. Also technique to check the traffic on your website has been provided to students so that they can keep a track of people accessing their website and also from where they are accessing it, how long they are staying on your page etc.
At the end Mr. Mainak made students aware of the benefits of Digital Marketing that is cost effective, performance oriented, helps employers cut down their marketing expenses and social media like Facebook, twitter, YouTube can be used for marketing.
Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp was a platform to expose students to different aspects of entrepreneurship, including opportunity guidance, services offered by agencies of support system etc. The visit was organized to bring the students in direct touch with practicing entrepreneurs. The program was highly inspirational and motivational for all the participating students which encouraged them to think big and achieve big as Entrepreneur.
