APP - A - THON Competition at DAVIM

DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad organized an app presentation competition ‘App-a-thon’ on 12th November, 2016. Six students from Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon participated in the event.
In the competition students had to prepare an app based on particular themes and in a given time period and then present it. The judging panel comprised of some eminent personalities from the corporate giants like TCS, HCL and Paytm.
Two teams from Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaontook part in the event. The teams were ‘Transworkers’ with members Nidhi (17092), Mohit Manuja (17087), and Lokesh Sharma (17075), and ‘Crazy Devs’ including Jyotika (17061), Rajat, and Neeraj (17090).
The competition was held to motivate coder who wants to procede their career in application formation. Team “Transworkers” secured Second Position at the event for their app ‘Safe Palm’ which was based on the theme social service. It is used to save people who meet road accidents. Users have to install the app and while registering it would ask to enter some necessary details like Aadhar Card number, blood group, name, emergency contact number etc. from the user. Once the registration is done, the app is ready to use. In case of any emergency user can send messages and can even use hospital facilities according to their requirement, with the help of the app. The team Crazy Devs presented a game theme based app ‘Helifighter’.
It was a great opportunity for the students to showcase their talent at a national platform. It helped the participants to come across some amazing technical ideas that people are working on. The level of competition was really good and thus students experienced great exposure.
