DRONATHON'23 : Annual Tech Fest

6th - 8th April 2023

Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE), GFG student chapter, GDSC Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram organized a 3 day long tech fest “DRONATHON’23” from 6^th – 8^th  April 2023.  Dr. Ashima Mehta was the coordinator of the fest. Chief Guests for the fest were: Mr. Parth Mahajan (Associate Engineering Manager at Tata 1mg along with being a Frontend Lead, a Technical Writer, Public Speaker and an open-source contributor), Mr Animesh Seemendra (Research Engineer at SHL Labs, ex-GDSC lead of JSS academy of technical education), Mr. Rohan (recognized among top 20 global certified communication and public speaking trainer and he currently serving as a sales officer in the Mindpurpose leadership) and Mr. Gaurav Kumar (associate software engineer at Unthinkable Solutions).

The 13 events that were organized in the fest are mentioned below:

• Project Competition (6^th-7^th April): Participants presented the working prototype/software/interface as a solution of any real-life problems.
• Poster Presentation (6^th April): Participants made posters on the recent tech booming topics and present the solution in form of poster.
• Paper Presentation (6^th April): Participants presented their research paper on the any of research done/ project.
• Lingo-de (6^th April): Participants solved the high aptitude coding-decoding questions.
• Bug Buster by GFG (6^th April): Participants found some errors/bugs in the given piece of code faster than others.
• Drishti by GDSC (6^th April): Participants created content (video) describing how tech can clearly be described visually.
• The Rumbling by GDSC(6^th – 7^th April): A BGMI gaming event where the students logical ability and patience were tested.
• Techpreksha 2.0 by GFG(6^th – 7^th April): 36-hours long hackathon in which teams compete and presented their solution effectively to the panel of judges. Top 10 teams finally pitched their ideas with a working prototype.
• Treasure hunt (6^th April): Participated teams decipher the clues and reach to next location and finally to the location to find treasure in the minimum time in 2 rounds.
• Technical Kolam (6^th April): Solution can be described in any form. Taking rangoli as a challenge to depict the tech topics participants made a technical rangoli of the size assigned to them.
• Technodium (7th April): Participants gave their view on the tech topics given to them.
• Chess Competition (7^th April): Participants competed in 2 rounds with each other on the online platform provided by chess.com.
• Hack-o-relay by GDSC(6^th – 7^th April): 36-hours long hackathon in which teams compete and presented their solution effectively to the panel of judges. Top 10 teams finally pitched their ideas with a working prototype.

During the tech fest 3 workshops of following topics were also conducted:

• Skills required in today's market conditions - using communication to advance in career on 6th April 2023 by Rohan Chauhan (Sales Officer in Mindpurpose Leadership, Certified communication and Public Speaking Trainer)
• Deploy your portfolio on AWS on 7th April 2023 by Rishabh Sharma (Founder and CEO CodeDev & Lead Front-end Developer @BlackNGreen Mobile Solutions, Microsoft Certified (AZ 900) Aviatrix Certified Multi-Cloud Associate).
• Leveraging Python and Looker Studio for Smarter Data Exploration and Visualization 7th April 2023 by Ritu Pahwa (Associate Professor & HOD, DCE ) and Mr. Ankit Verma (Data Analyst with Idam house of brands, Certified in Machine Learning trainer for Computer Vision)

Dronathon was an opportunity and platform for students to showcase their hard work and talent
