Exposure Visit for ATL Schools

Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE), Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram organized an exposure visit for ATL School (Royal Public School and Divine Dale International School) on 6th April 2023. Prof. Pooja Sharma was the coordinator of the visit.
The main objective of the ATL school visit was to give exposure to school student about recent trends and innovations.
Prof. Pooja Sharma along with Dr. Manoj, Dr. Shipra, Prof. Rajesh Mattoo, Prof. Naveen and Prof. Monika Thakur explained the need for having Labs at the institution and how beneficial it is for students to try out their innovative ideas with the resources available at the Lab.
Students were exposed to the 3D printing and working of sensors and. All the students experienced a Hands-on session on 3D designing, using Firebird Software and also on product designing and printing on a 3D printer. The students and teachers also got an opportunity to see the various tools provided to the students at Dronacharya College of Engineering for implementing their ideas.
The objectives of Niti Aayog, Government of India for setting up ATL - a space for creation rather than observation and its utilization were discussed in the next session. Students were sensitized about the need for non-curricular based experimentation and integration of idea and theories which students generally face during their day-to-day interaction with science and its inventions.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) B M K Prasad expressed need to focus on making products which have significance in everyday life and therefore are relevant to the industry. This will allow young children to get a chance to work with tools and equipment to understand the concepts of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Innovation and ideas do not know any boundaries. In fact, life goes on getting better because of these innovations and ideas. Keeping this in mind our institute will always stand and support the school students to move ahead with their distinct ideas.
This initiative will foster the culture of ideation, innovation, entrepreneurship, creative thinking, design thinking, prototyping, out-of-box thinking, and IP commercialization by facilitating the training (for teachers), field visits, leadership talks, awareness, orientation sessions, boot camps, national-level exhibitions, hackathons, skill modules, new courses for students, linking of school innovation ecosystem with higher educational institutions (HEIs), etc. at schools.
The sessions were enriching, informative and educational leaving everyone excited and inspired.
