Awareness Program on "World No Tobacco Day"

NSS Units, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram organized an awareness program in the adopted village Sayyad Mohamadpur to celebrate “World No Tobacco Day” on 31st May 2023. This year the theme of the World No Tobacco Day is 'We need food, not tobacco'.
The objective of the program was to spread awareness about the harms of tobacco use.
NSS PO Dr. Ashok Kumar along with 34 NSS volunteers visited the village for the awareness session. Dr. Ashok Kumar addressed the villagers stressed upon not to grow tobacco rather choose alternative sustainable and nutritious crops. He also discussed the drawbacks of using tobacco and the role of government in controlling the use of tobacco among youth. Next NSS volunteers discussed on some of the important topics in detail.

- Health related side effects of tobacco
- Role of government in the prevention & control of tobacco.
In the end of the program, NSS volunteers distributed the pamphlets to the villagers and youth.
