Role of Tool Engineering for Automobile Industry

IIC Cell, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram organized a Session on "Role of Tool Engineering for Automobile Industry" by Dr. Praveen Kumar (Assistant Professor Mechanical Engineering, in Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University Okhla-II Campus) on 2nd May, 2023.
The main objective of the expert talk was to educate the students about the smart manufacturing technologies used in the market for automobile industry.
Dr. Praveen educate students about the technology driven approach that utilizes internet connected machinery to monitor the production process. He enlightens students on various automotive materials used in industry. He discussed the current focus of automotive materials research group is improving the mechanical properties, especially formability, of Advanced High Strength Steels (AHSS). The objective is pursued from the perspectives of variation of microstructure through thermo-mechanical processing and its effect on mechanical properties, in particular work hardening. Micro-structural morphology effects on damage formation. He enlightens students on concepts of engineering and design, and moved on to applications of that concepts on the applications used in aerospace and automotive industry He dealt with the concepts of research and its importance in design parameters. Further, he gave lots of information about the factors on the concept of design and its application in design of automobile and aerospace products.
The session ended with question and answer session in which students cleared their doubts. Students felt very informed about modern materials and technology used in automobile industry in current scenario.
