Awareness Program on Road Safety
17th August 2024
NSS units, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram conducted a road safety awareness program under the guidance of Dr. Anupam Dalal (NSS PO) on 17th August, 2024. The initiative program aimed at educating the local community about safe road practices. The initiative was in response to the growing concern over road accidents and the need to promote responsible driving habits. The goal was to create a culture of road safety within the Gurugram community and contribute to reducing the number of road accidents.
NSS volunteers organized a street rally in the vicinity of the college, carrying placards and banners with impactful messages on road safety. They also distributed informative pamphlets to pedestrians and motorists, highlighting essential road rules and safety tips.
The messages broadly covered various aspects of road safety, including:
- Importance of wearing helmets and seat belts
- Safe driving techniques
- Pedestrian safety rules
- Consequences of reckless driving and drunk driving
To create a lasting impact, the volunteers staged a mock accident scene to illustrate the potential consequences of disregarding traffic rules. The visual demonstration served as a powerful reminder of the importance of road safety.
The enthusiastic participation of NSS volunteers and the active involvement of the community demonstrated a strong commitment to road safety. The program raised awareness about common road safety hazards and encouraged individuals to adopt responsible driving and pedestrian behaviors.
The NSS units of DCE plans to continue its efforts in promoting road safety through regular awareness campaigns, workshops, and community outreach initiatives. By educating the community about safe road practices, the volunteers have taken a significant step towards making Gurugram's roads safer for everyone.
