e-Yantra Teachers' Robotics Competition Finale and Technical Session

Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram in association with E-Yantra hosted “TECHFUSION 2024” event on 20th August, 2024. The event commenced with an official inauguration by Prof. Kavi Arya, Principal Investigator of e-Yantra, via an online meeting. The event witnessed participation from students and Faculty members representing various colleges and departments (82 Nos.) including Amity University Gurugram and MSME Technology Centre, Bhiwadi. The event was coordinated by Prof. Dimple Saproo, (HoD, ECE/EEE, and Dr. Seema, Assistant Professor (ECE Department.)
Following the inauguration, Dr. Seema delivered a heartfelt and enthusiastic welcome address to the participants and guests, including Mr. Arjun Sadananda (Systems and Control Engineer/Robotics & Drone Developer at e-Yantra, IIT Bombay), and Mr. M. Vimal Grace, Project Trainee in ROS2 at e-Yantra, IIT Bombay.
The subsequent session focused on the finale and evaluation of the Teachers' Robotics Competition. From the Haryana district, Dronacharya College of Engineering was the sole finalist in the competition. In accordance with the guidelines provided by e-Yantra, the arena was printed and set up in the auditorium. The participants from Dronacharya College of Engineering included Dr. Isha Malhotra (Principal, DCE), Dr. R. Dheivanai (Associate Professor, EEE-Department), Mrs. Sonia Arora (Assistant Professor, ECE- Department), and Mrs. Neha Verma (Assistant Professor, ECE Department.) The Firebird V robot was programmed to navigate the arena successfully, completing the assigned task.
In continuation with the competition, a technical session on ROS was conducted by the e-Yantra team members. The session provided valuable insights into participating in the e-Yantra Robotics Competition (eYRC). Mr. Arjun shared details about the eYRC 2023 competition and introduced the theme for eYRC 2024.
After the technical session, the valedictory function took place. The result of the Teachers' Robotics Competition was announced by Prof. Kavi Arya online. He also received feedback about the competition from various regional centers (10 in total). Dronacharya College of Engineering was appreciated with hosting TECHFUSION and was awarded a drone, earning appreciation from the participants and e-Yantra.
The event provided participants with a strong foundation in robotics and motivated them to participate in future e-Yantra competitions. As a gesture of appreciation, green plants were presented to the resource persons by Dr. Isha Malhotra. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Dimple Saproo, followed by the National Anthem.
The event highlighted the institution's commitment to innovation and collaboration, setting the stage for future workshops aimed at nurturing young talents and promoting robotics education.
