Industrial Visit to IndiaSkills 2025 - 26 National Competition
1st April 2026
Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram, organized an industrial visit to the IndiaSkills 2025–26 National Competition held at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Knowledge Park-II, Greater Noida, on 1st April 2026. The visit was organized with the objective of providing students with first-hand exposure to advanced technologies, industry practices, emerging engineering skills, and real-world applications beyond the classroom.
A group of 20 students from the Mechanical Engineering and Robotics & Automation programmes participated in the visit. The students explored various skill-based technology demonstrations and competition areas, gaining insights into the practical implementation of engineering concepts and the technological competencies expected in modern industries.
During the visit, students were exposed to Mechatronics and Automation technologies, including industrial automation solutions demonstrated by Festo. They gained an understanding of how automation, control systems, and integrated mechanical-electrical technologies are applied in industrial environments. The exposure helped students relate their academic concepts with contemporary manufacturing and automation practices.
The students also explored CAD Design and 3D Modelling, gaining insights into the role of computer-aided design in product development and engineering applications. The visit further provided exposure to CNC Machining and Welding Technologies, enabling students to understand modern manufacturing processes, precision machining, fabrication techniques, and the importance of technical skills in industrial production.
Another important area of exposure was Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing. Students observed the application of advanced manufacturing techniques and understood how digital designs can be converted into physical components using additive manufacturing technologies. This provided them with a broader perspective on the role of emerging technologies in transforming conventional manufacturing processes.
The visit was conducted under the guidance of Dr.AnkitAgarwal and Prof. Yudhveer Kumar Verma, who facilitated the students' interaction with various technology demonstrations and encouraged them to observe the practical applications of their academic learning.
The IndiaSkills platform also provided students with an opportunity to understand the significance of skill development, technical excellence, innovation, and industry-oriented competencies. The exposure helped them appreciate the importance of practical skills and continuous learning in preparing for national and international skill platforms such as WorldSkills.
The industrial visit to the IndiaSkills 2025–26 National Competition proved to be an informative and enriching learning experience for the students. It enhanced their understanding of modern manufacturing, automation, digital design, machining, welding, and additive manufacturing while providing valuable exposure to industry-relevant technologies.
The visit successfully contributed towards bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, enhancing students' industry awareness and encouraging them to develop future-ready technical skills. Such experiential learning initiatives reflect Dronacharya College of Engineering's commitment to providing students with meaningful industry exposure and preparing them for the evolving requirements of the engineering profession.
