Industrial Visit to ICAT-1 Training Center, Manesar
24th April 2026
Department of Mechanical & Robotics Engineering, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram, in collaboration with the SAE Collegiate Club, organized an Industrial Visit to ICAT-1 Training Center, Manesar, on 24 April 2026 for the students of 2nd and 4th Semester. The visit was planned as part of the department’s initiative to provide students with meaningful exposure to the professional engineering environment and contemporary practices followed in the automotive industry.
Designed to provide practical industry exposure, the visit helped students relate their academic knowledge to real-world automotive applications. It offered insights into testing methodologies, laboratory operations, engineering standards, and the critical role of testing and validation in modern mobility system development.
During the visit, students received live exposure to advanced automotive testing laboratories and specialized testing facilities. They gained insights into the various stages involved in automotive testing and validation and developed a better understanding of how engineering concepts studied in the classroom are implemented in real-world applications. The exposure also helped students appreciate the importance of accuracy, safety, quality control, and compliance with established industry standards.
Interaction at the training centre further familiarized students with the functioning of a professional technical environment. Students observed the application of engineering principles in automotive and mobility-related technologies and gained awareness of the skills and technical competencies expected from engineers working in the industry. The visit encouraged students to relate their academic knowledge to practical engineering challenges and emerging technological requirements.
Students actively participated throughout the visit and interacted with the concerned professionals to enhance their understanding of automotive testing and industry practices. The experience provided valuable insights into the evolving automotive sector and highlighted the importance of practical knowledge, technical skills, teamwork, and continuous learning in an engineering career.
Under the guidance and coordination of Mr. Yudhveer Verma and Mr. Rajesh Mattoo, the industrial visit was conducted smoothly, ensuring active student participation and meaningful engagement throughout the programme. Their support encouraged students to closely observe the technical processes and gain a better understanding of the professional engineering environment. Offering valuable experiential learning beyond the classroom, the visit enabled students to develop practical insights into automotive engineering and mobility technologies while strengthening their understanding of industry expectations. Such initiatives promote industry-academia interaction, practical skill development, and industry-oriented learning, helping students prepare for the evolving demands of the engineering profession.
