Earth Week Celebrations

NSS Units of Dronacharya College of Engineering successfully organized Earth Week Celebrations 2026 from April 22 to April 30, 2026, based on the global Earth Day theme, “Our Power, Our Planet.” The week-long celebration aimed to spread awareness about sustainability, environmental responsibility, and the power of individual action in building a greener future.
The event commenced with an inaugural session where NSS volunteers emphasized that real environmental change begins with small everyday choices. Students were encouraged to adopt sustainable practices and understand how technology can contribute to environmental preservation.
A major highlight of the celebration was the expert lecture series on “Reclaiming Our Voice through Technology,” where participants explored the role of smart and ethical technology in creating a sustainable future. Topics such as energy-efficient digital habits, reducing unnecessary cloud storage, smart power management, and responsible consumption were discussed to inspire environmentally conscious lifestyles.
The college also showcased several innovative technology-driven initiatives, including:
- IoT-Based Smart Energy Monitoring System
- Hydroponic Agriculture Demonstration
- AI-Enabled Waste Sorting Project for efficient recycling
To further strengthen the commitment towards sustainability, the NSS Units conducted a Precision Plantation Drive across the campus. Saplings were planted using GPS tagging and soil-
NSS Units expressed sincere gratitude to the College Management for their continuous support in organizing such impactful initiatives. Special appreciation was extended to Dr.Isha Malhotra for her visionary leadership and dedication towards promoting a “Green DCE” culture within the institution.
The Earth Week Celebrations 2026 concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, reinforcing the message that collective action and responsible technology can together create a healthier and more sustainable planet.
