e-Yantra Project Competition
25th September 2026
Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram, hosted a Project Competition on 25th September, 2026, that brought together innovative ideas, technical experimentation, and practical engineering solutions. The event gave students an opportunity to move beyond theoretical concepts and demonstrate how classroom knowledge can be translated into functional projects addressing diverse technological and everyday challenges.
A striking variety of projects formed the centrepiece of the competition. Students presented solutions such as Automatic Activation Device (AAD) for Parachute Deployment, Smart Seat Occupancy Detector, Digital Reaction Time Tester, IoT-Based Autonomous Fire-Fighting Robot, Smart Rural Energy Storage and Microgrid Intelligence System, Obstacle Avoiding Car, Smart Parking System, Communication Black Spot Mapping Robot, Regulated Power Supply Adapter, and Smart Walking Stick for Obstacle Detection. Each project reflected a different approach to identifying a problem, designing a solution, and applying engineering principles to make it work.
Dr. Kaveri and Prof. Priya undertook the evaluation of the projects, examining their originality, innovation, technical execution, practical relevance, problem-solving methodology, and presentation. Their discussions with the teams went beyond assessment, allowing participants to understand the strengths of their work while identifying areas where design, functionality, and implementation could be further refined.
Competition among the teams remained strong as projects were judged on both concept and execution. Smart Parking System emerged as the First Prize winner, demonstrating an effective application of technology to a practical requirement. Smart Walking Stick for Obstacle Detection secured the Second Prize, while Digital Reaction Time Tester was awarded the Third Prize. The winning entries stood out for their focused concepts, technical application, and clarity of execution.
What made the event particularly engaging was the range of ideas brought together under one platform. From assistive technology and smart infrastructure to robotics, safety systems, energy management, and IoT, the projects reflected students’ ability to approach engineering problems from multiple perspectives. Presenting their working models also gave participants an opportunity to articulate their design choices, defend their ideas, and respond to technical questions.
The Department of ECE congratulated the prize-winning teams and acknowledged the efforts invested by every participant in developing and presenting their projects. Appreciation was also extended to Dr. Kaveri and Prof. Priya for their thoughtful evaluation and technical inputs, which added depth to the competition and gave students meaningful direction for taking their projects forward.
