Workshop on OBE and NBA Accreditation

Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram under Margdarshan  Scheme of AICTE has organized workshop on “OBE and NBA Accreditation” on  30^th April - 1^st May 2022. Prof. (Dr.) Vikram Singh and his team members from JC Bose University visited the campus for the workshop. Faculty members of DCE attended the workshop.

The objective of the workshop was to make participants understand the process of NBA accreditation process.

Worshop began with the welcome address of Dr. BMK Prasad (Principal, DCE). He briefed  everyone the importance of accreditation. He said accreditation provides quality assurance and recognition from  all the stakeholders.

Moving the session further, Dr. Vikram described the vision, mission, PEOs and OBE Framework. He told that Outcome Based Education (OBE) s a student-centric teaching and learning methodology in which the course delivery, assessment are planned to achieve stated objectives and outcomes. It focuses on measuring student performance i.e. outcomes at different levels.

The next session was continued by Dr. Parul Tomar. She told the important terms used in accreditation document i.e Self-Assessment Report (SAR) which includes Program Criteria, Program Educational Objectives, PEO, Graduate Profile, Program Outcomes, PO, Accreditation Criteria, Course Outcomes, CO, Assessment and Evaluation.

Prof.(Dr) Munish Vashishath explained how to apply for NBA and what are the assessment tools for NBA. Next he explained attainment of program outcomes and program specific outcomes.

Later Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh Dixit explained the examination reforms and what are the documents needed for NBA Inspection when Team visit the college.  In the end vote of thanks was given by Prof. Hansraj Yadav (Registrar, DCE).
