Visit to Om Shanti Retreat Centre

60 NSS volunteers of B.tech (2nd and 3rd year), Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon visited the Om Shanti Retreat Centre of Brahmakumari’s (ORC) at Bhorakalan, Gurgaon on 24th February 2018.
The objective of the visit was to motivate the students from holy and spiritual place to become the ideal citizen of the country.
The Om Shanti Retreat Centre (ORC), is a unique learning centre of the Brahma Kumaris, that provides higher education in the art of living as well as training.
The volunteers were welcomed by Ms. Sunaina. She started the lecture with explanation about Brahma Kumari and meaning of OM in detail.
Next the volunteers attended a lecture on 7 billion acts of goodness by Ms. Sunaina. The lecture was very inspiring and a peace of mind for the volunteers. During the session she explained how the act of goodness can change everyone's life.
The students were also made aware of the fact, how introspection and meditation can change their mindset towards society and themselves. It was all based on various acts of goodness like sharing, uplifting, caring, helping etc.
The volunteers then visited the Spiritual Art Gallery where they had been demonstrated life size models and paintings depicting ancient Indian culture and explaining the various spiritual principles governing our life. The models of various India dynasties and scenes of the golden age have been skillfully created by artists from Orissa and West Bengal to give a very pleasant experience. They also saw pyramid structured meditation room, garden, dining hall, solar system etc.
Through the visit NSS volunteer were very motivated towards their responsibilities to the society.
