“Jury Round - NES Innovation Awards 2017-18”

Four teams from IT, CSE and ECS Department along with their project mentor Ms. Neha Verma of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon participated in Jury Round of NES Innovation Awards 2017-18 held at Global Talent Track, Mundhwa, Pune on 16th - 17th February 2018.
Natarajan Education Society (NES) has established a national award program that will be administered through an innovation identification mission that will span academic institutions across the country and identify the best ideas / student projects that have scalability and commercial potential.
The first phase of competition started on 13th Jan 2018, when four teams from the DCE college reached their first milestone by securing their position in the top 50 amongst the thousands of students who participated in the competition.
The award was alienated into three parts, the workshop, concept presentation and awards function. The workshop was conducted on 23rd Jan 2018 where students gained insight on how to design a business model out of their project and guidelines to submit the project based video.
After the successfully submitting the business model and project video towards the competition, students qualified for the Concept Presentation or the Jury Round scheduled on 16th and 17th February. The selection criteria of the round were innovation and originality of the concept or approach Idea, significant problem of society that may find a solution and finding a new domain with international potential. The result of the competition is to be announced on 29th March, 2018.

- Mobile Assistive Application For Visually Impaired
The project was presented by V. Sai Anila, Tamanna Sood and Manan Bhardwaj from IT Department, VI semester. The project addresses one of the basic problems faced by a blind person that is not the non-sightedness but the dependency that comes with it.
- All Time Available Blood Bank
It is a one-stop solution for all blood requirements and donation needs. A real-time updating website that acts as a bridge between the user, donor and hospital was suggested by Himanshu Bhirani, Kunal Arora, Mandeep Singh and Nitin Manocha from CSE Depatment, VI semester.
- Iot Based Smart Wheelchair
The project was submitted by Rashi Sharma (ECS-VIII), Dona Paul (ECS-VIII), Amit Kumar (CSIT-VI) and Prashant Yadav (CSIT-VI). The project presented cost effective alternate to smart wheelchairs available in market. The innovativeness and problem addressing concept of the project was appreciated by the judges.
The project was submitted by Neha Sinha, Nainza Nanda and Kartikeya Sharma from CSE Department, VI semester and it provides solution to a very crucial concern in today’s scenario that is web security of protected files.
