IOT Challenge 2018

    8  students of VI Semester from CSIT Department and 7 Students of  ECS Department from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon participated in prelims round of IOT Challenge 2018 held at Chandigarh  University, Punjab on 9th - 10th  February 2018. 
 The  challenge was conducted for students having basic knowledge of electronics and  programming and enthusiastic to learn about IOT (internet of things).
 The two days workshop was based on IOT basics  and implementation for students and professionals.  First day started with information on Home Automation which is the process of  controlling home appliances automatically using various systems. Technology of IOT  like a high communication for mobile phones, LAN, optical fibers etc were also  explained. In the second half of the day key components in an IoT based  networks were discussed like, Microprocessor and Microcontroller, like ATmega8.
 Second  day was dedicated to the Programming  based on IOT. During the session a IOT  kit was given to each team with 4 members for practice and they were taught to  upload program on it. After the workshop there was a selection process of 45  minutes and the candidates were chosen according to their performance and speed  for the next round of I3INDIA TECHNOLOGY. The final round of the competition  will be conducted during RADIANCE 2018 fest at IIT Bombay.
 In the end certificated were provided to all  the participants.
 The  challenge was a great learning experience for all the students.
