MEGA ATV Championship
24th - 26th February 2018
Faculty member Mr. Manish Kumar Mishra along with the students of Mechanical Department of 3rd and 4th year, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon have participated in a national level Off Road competition "MEGA ATV" organized by AUTO SPORTS INDIA in which 100 teams from all over INDIA have participated from 24th -26th February 2018.
MEGA ATV CHAMPIONSHIP is a national level ATV (All terrain vehicles) racing championship for engineering students basically for mechanical / automobile branches. The championship is well known for its extraordinary racing format, night endurance racing. The championship started its first season in 2015 held in Bhubaneswar.
The various sessions during the event were as follows:
Day 1 : 24th February 2018
Technical Inspection:
Each vehicle was inspected to determine if it complies with the requirements and restrictions of The Baja SAE rules. The inspection included an examination of the driver's equipment including helmet and arm restraints, a test of driver exit time and to ensure that all drivers meet the requirements of the rules. The four test during the event were as follows. Brake Test, Driver Safety Test, Driver Egression, Engine Test.
Day 2 : 25th February 2018
- Solo Dirt Race
GENERAL RULE - Team vehicle completed one full circle/ loop of the total track length of 4.8 KMS alone. In the race vehicle ran alone in the track, not with other vehicles. The score were given on the basis of total time taken by the vehicle to cover the total specified length. Vehicle who completed the length in minimum time was declared as winner.

- ARMAGADDON RACE
GENERAL RULE - Team vehicle completed track length of around 350 Meters. In the event vehicle was running alone in the track, not with other vehicles. The score were given on the basis of total time taken by the vehicle to cover the total specified length. Vehicle who completed the length in minimum time was declared as winner.

Day 3 Date 26th February 2018
- NIGHT BLACK OUT ENDURENCE TEST
GENERAL RULE - This was the endurance racing of the vehicles participating in the event. All vehicles who have passed technical inspection and their lights are working properly. In the event vehicles were running at a time for four hours non-stop, where durability of the vehicle and the capability of the drivers was tested. The event occurred in the main track of the event which is a 4.8 Kms, long closed loop. The vehicles was moving in the closed loop and score was given on the basis of maximum no of laps covered by each vehicle in the specified time i.e. maximum distance travelled by a vehicle in the specified given time. Vehicle who covered maximum distance in the given time was declared as winner.
