Seminar on "Improvement of Automotive Road Safety and Vehicle Fire Incidents"

Faculty member Prof. Neha Chauhan along with students of ME Department, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram attended a seminar on "Improvement of Automotive Road Safety and Vehicle Fire Incidents" on 6th June, 2023 at International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT), Gurugram.
Smt. Usha Padhee (Principal Secretary to Government of Odisha), Mr. Rama Shankar Pandey (Chief Executive Officer, Tata Green Batteries), Mr. Balraj Bhanot (Former Director of ARAI and Chairman of TED-28) , Mr. C V Raman (Chief Technical Officer, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd) and Mr. Saurabh Dalela (Director, ICAT) inaugurated the seminar.
In the inaugural address Mr. Saurabh Dalela,, apprised the audience on the present road safety issues and emphasized ICAT’s readiness to support stakeholders in the field of road accident research and study. The seminar witnessed the presence of eminent experts who shared their vast knowledge and experience in the areas of advancement in Crash Analysis methodologies, injury biomechanics, crash forgiving road and transportation engineering, hardship faced by stakeholders, perspective of the law enforcing agencies, vehicle fire investigation methodology etc.
Moving the session, there was a panel discussion on “Indian perspective on automotive safety and role of OEMs for improvement” involving senior officials from Government, industry leaders from Automotive OEMs and road safety experts from media.
The students learned the importance of road safety features in automobile and got ideas how to innovate more safety features in automobile.
