CELEBRATION OF THE 6TH NATIONAL VOTERS’ DAY

The NSS Unit of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized an event “proud to be a voter - ready to vote” to celebrate the 6th National Voters’ Day on 25th January 2016 with an objective to encourage students to take part in electoral process The theme of this celebration was to have greater participation of the youth for strong democracy.
Prof. (Dr.) B. M. K. Prasad, Principal ,DCE shared the importance of Voters’ day with the students. He expressed that the main motive of this day is to enroll new voters in the electoral, as the new voters had not been actively participating in the voting process. He reiterated that by taking part in this process we can select the best leader for the welfare of the society and the Nation as a whole.
Under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) B. M. K. Prasad, the NSS volunteers, faculty members and students took pledge to vote in every election fearlessly and without being influenced by considerations of religions, race, caste, community, language or any inducement.
The NSS Volunteers of the college Shweta Popli (16154), Rahul Kumar (16793) made the students aware regarding their right to vote for establishing strong democracy in the country. Students delivered speech, performed skits and conducted debate on this issue.
The celebration ended with a vote of thanks delivered by the NSS Program Officer Mrs. Rita Yadav. She expressed her heart - felt gratitude to the NSS volunteers and faculty members for extending every co-operation during the celebrations of the day.
