19th ISTE National Students Convention - Prize Distribution Function

19th ISTE National Students Convention - Prize Distribution Function was hosted by VIT, Tamil Nadu based on the theme “Evolving Technical Trends in India to Meet the Challenges Beyond 2025” on 15th - 16th October, 2016.Shubham Rauthan (Roll No - 17777), student of Electronics and Computer Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the function.
The Project titled “Smart Farming System” by Ms. Shweta Saini (16773) from VII Sem ECS Department has been selected as the Best B.Tech Project by ISTE-BBSBEC National Award 2016 in Electrical & Electronics Category. Shubham Rauthan represented Dronacharya College of Engineering at the event and received the award. The award consists of Cash Prize, Medallion and Citation.
The ISTE National Students Convention is hosted every year by one of the ISTE student chapter. It is a forum for the exchange of scientific and technical innovative concepts and highlights the role of students in directing it towards excellence. It provides a conductive ambience for both student and industries to discuss technical advancements and to propagate innovations towards further evolution.
The event was attended by participants and dignitaries from all over India. During the Inauguration Ceremony, the presidential address was given by Prof. Pratapsinh K Desai (President, ISTE, New Delhi). Mr. Abdul Dewale Mohammed (Founder and Executive President, Africa Asia Scholars Global Network (AASGON)) was the Chief Guest and the event was graced by the presence of Prof. K. Manivannan (Vice - President, ISTE), Prof. Vijay D. Vaidya (Executive Secretary, ISTE), Dr. R. Murugesan (Past President, ISTE), Prof. Dr. A.K. Natesan (Chairman, ISTE - TN & P Section), Dr. G.Visvanathan (Chancellor, VIT University, Vellore), and Dr. Anand A Sameul (Vice-Chancellor, VIT University, Vellore).
Shubham Rauthan actively participated in various events like paper presentation, quiz and project expo. In project expo, the students showcased various technical projects based on the theme of Convention. He presented his project Medical Dispenserin the exhibition and also presented poster on the same theme in the poster presentation competition. All projects were very innovative and creative and were acknowledged by the judging faculty. The quiz competition consisted of two rounds with the first round been conducted on 15th and second on 16th.
The convention provided a great opportunity to meet and interact with scholars from all over India. The vast experience gained during such exposure gave an idea of how innovation, creativity, human intelligence and patience have given out various results from the younger generation. Participants displayed extraordinary and innovative ideas based on the sub-themes of the Convention. Each idea was out of the box and highly creative.
