Industrial Visit to
Powergrid HVDC Station, Dadri
8th November 2025
IEEE Student Branch, Dronacharya College of Engineering (DCE) organized an Industrial Visit to the Powergrid HVDC Station, Dadri for the students of the 3rd and 5thsemesters of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department on 8thNovember 2025 under the guidance of Prof. Kanika Lamba, Event Coordinator.
The visit provided students with meaningful insights into real-time operations and advance power system technologies.During the visit, students gained practical insights into the Converter Units, Substation Layout, and the Cooling System of the HVDC setup. The industrial interaction effectively bridged the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world applications, enhancing students’ understanding of High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission systems.
The session was facilitated by Er. Neeraj Kumar Gahlot, Chief Manager, Powergrid, who served as the resource person. He guided the students through various functional areas of the station, providing detailed explanations and professional insights into the operation and management of modern power transmission systems.
Overall, the industrial visit proved to be a highly informative and enriching experience, significantly strengthening the link between academic learning and practical industrial applications. It provided students with a deeper understanding of real-world power transmission systems and their operational aspects.
