Workshop on Business Model Canvas (BMC)

Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE), Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram organized a workshop on “Business Model Canvas (BMC)” on 7th June, 2025. The session was led by Ms. Namrata Arora (Director, Business Development at Knowise.) 45 faculty members attended the workshop.
The primary objective of the session was to encourage, enlighten, and motivate students to think innovatively and consider entrepreneurship as a viable career path. Ms. Arora shared her personal journey as a successful entrepreneur, providing real-life insights into the challenges and milestones that shaped her professional growth. Her narrative not only inspired the students but also gave them a realistic perspective on what it takes to start and sustain a new venture.
During the session, Ms. Arora offered valuable guidance on the crucial first steps toward launching a startup. She emphasized the importance of identifying a problem, validating the idea, conducting market research, and building a minimum viable product (MVP). She also highlighted common mistakes often made by freshers and provided practical strategies to avoid them.
Additionally, the speaker introduced students to various emerging technologies frequently used in the startup ecosystem. This included tools for business development, digital marketing, customer engagement, and financial tracking. Her insights helped bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world applications.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion, where students were invited to present their startup ideas. Ms. Arora offered constructive feedback and encouraged the participants to refine and innovate their concepts further. This segment fostered critical thinking and peer learning, making the session highly participatory and productive.
