School Outreach Program on Water Conservation

Dronacharya College of Engineering successfully organized a School Outreach Program on Water Conservation at Government Senior Secondary School, Patli on 28thJanuary 2026. The program was conducted with the primary objective of creating awareness among school students about the importance of water conservation and sustainable water resource management, which is a crucial environmental concern for the nation’s future. This outreach initiative reflects the institution’s strong commitment to social responsibility and environmental sustainability.
The program was led by Prof. Pooja Sharma, Prof. Dr. Vaishali Dixit, and Prof. Dr. Kunal, who actively interacted with approximately 70 secondary school students. The sessions were thoughtfully planned and delivered in a manner suitable for young learners, with the aim of developing awareness, responsibility, and practical understanding of water conservation practices.
The outreach program commenced with an interactive awareness session, during which the faculty members emphasized the importance of water as a precious natural resource. They discussed key challenges such as water scarcity, groundwater depletion, and the impact of climate change on water availability. Students were introduced to various water conservation techniques, including rainwater harvesting, judicious use of water in daily life, prevention of water wastage, and sustainable water management practices. Real-life examples and simple illustrations were used to ensure better comprehension and effective learning.
To further enhance student engagement and reinforce learning outcomes, an interactive quiz competition was organized as part of the program. The quiz covered topics related to water conservation, environmental sustainability, and responsible water usage. The activity generated great enthusiasm among the students and encouraged them to actively apply the knowledge gained during the awareness session. The high level of participation reflected the students’ interest and understanding of the subject.
The program concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, during which the winners of the quiz competition were recognized and rewarded. Certificates and prizes were distributed to motivate the students and reinforce the importance of environmental responsibility and continuous learning.
Overall, the School Outreach Program successfully achieved its objectives of raising awareness, disseminating knowledge, and promoting responsible citizenship among young learners. The initiative not only enhanced students’ understanding of water conservation but also inspired them to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.
