Celebration of Baisakhi

NSS Units and Cultural Club, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram celebrated “Baisakhi” with great enthusiasm and traditional fervor, bringing students and faculty together to honor the vibrant harvest festival of Punjab on 13th April 2024. The event highlighted the cultural significance of Baisakhi, marking the beginning of the harvest season and commemorating the formation of the KhalsaPanth by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Students, faculty members and staff of the college participated in the celebration activities.
As the festival celebrates the start of the New Year, the harvest season, and the establishment of the KhalsaPanth, 15 NSS Volunteers went to the adopted village Khentawas and distributed seeds and fertilizers to the farmers.
The celebration featured a series of colorful performances, including traditional Punjabi folk dances like Bhangra and Gidda, music, and skits that depicted the historical and cultural essence of the festival. Students dressed in vibrant ethnic attire added to the festive spirit, and the campus resonated with joyous beats of dhol and Punjabi songs. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, emphasizing the importance of unity and cultural diversity.
