Seven Days NSS Special Camp 2025: A Journey of Service, Skill & Spirit
22nd to 28th March 2025
NSS Units of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Khentawas, Farrukh Nagar, Gurugram, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India, successfully organized a 7-Day Special NSS Camp from 22nd to 28th March 2025. The camp revolved around the themes “Youth for My Bharat” and “Youth for Digital Literacy”, focusing on nurturing national pride, instilling social responsibility, and empowering youth with digital skills.
The aimed of the camp was to promote national integration, support Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and enhance digital literacy among youth and the community. It focused on developing leadership, teamwork, and communication skills, while fostering social responsibility and community service. The camp also included interactive sessions, cultural performances, and ice-breaking activities to build camaraderie and celebrate India’s diversity.
The seven-day camp was packed with various activities designed to achieve the set objectives. Here's a glimpse into the key events:
- Day 1: Inauguration & Cultural Immersion:
The camp opened with a grand inauguration ceremony graced by Dr. Renu Choudhary, NSS Coordinator, Gurugram University. The program featured Ganesh Vandana, NSS song and pledge, a presentation on past NSS achievements, forestry awareness session, and cultural dance performances. Outstanding volunteers were honored with certificates, and the event concluded with a vote of thanks.
- Day 2: Swachh Bharat Abhiyan & Community Engagement:
Volunteers conducted cleanliness drives in the campus and nearby Sultanpur, held environmental awareness rallies, plantation drives, and street plays on sanitation and waste management. Interaction with locals helped identify community challenges.
- Day 3: Digital Literacy Workshop (Part I):
The focus was on basic digital literacy. Sessions included computer fundamentals, internet use, online safety, and the use of digital tools for education and communication. Outreach programs extended support to underprivileged children and senior citizens.
- Day 4: Digital Literacy Workshop (Part II):
Advanced workshops covered e-governance, online banking, safe use of social media, and entrepreneurship through digital platforms. Volunteers also engaged in project work to design digital solutions for community needs.
- Day 5: Skill Development & Leadership Training:
The day featured guest lectures, workshops on communication and personality development, problem-solving activities, and team-building exercises, all aimed at nurturing leadership and creativity among the volunteers.
- Day 6: Community Outreach & Awareness Campaigns:
Volunteers visited schools and community centres, conducting awareness programs on health, hygiene, disaster management, and environmental protection. Door-to-door campaigns and educational material distribution ensured greater outreach.
- Day 7: Valedictory Function & Cultural Evening:
The camp concluded with a valedictory ceremony, where project presentations and feedback were shared. The chief guest appreciated the volunteers’ dedication, followed by certificate distribution and a vibrant cultural evening, showcasing student talent and unity.
Camp was successfully fostered social responsibility, civic engagement, and community development among student volunteers. It enhanced their personal and professional growth through skill-building workshops, cultural activities, and awareness campaigns, while promoting digital literacy and environmental consciousness. Volunteers developed leadership, teamwork, and communication skills, contributed to a cleaner and healthier environment, and gained a deeper understanding of societal challenges. By integrating the themes of “Youth for My Bharat” and “Youth for Digital Literacy,” the camp empowered youth to make meaningful contributions to their communities and exemplified the transformative impact of NSS in shaping responsible and engaged citizens.
