Republic Day Celebration

NSS Wing, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram celebrated 71st Republic Day with great patriotic feeling at college premises. NSS volunteers decorated the campus with tricolor balloons, ribbons and Flag. 90 students participated in the celebration activities.
Dr. Isha Malhotra (Principal, DCE, Gurugram) hoisted the flag which was followed by National Anthem and pledge taking ceremony. He addressed the students and staff members by giving an influential speech. He said India adopted the constitution on this day 71 years ago. The constitution was framed by the drafting committee, headed by Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. According to the constitution, India is a Democratic, Sovereign, Socialist, Secular Republic. The document lays down the framework that defines fundamental political code, structure, procedures, powers, and duties of government institutions and sets out fundamental rights, directive principles, and the duties of citizens. On this day, India became an Independent Republic, as the constitution replaced the previously official Government of India Act of 1935.
Dr. Isha Malhotra, in his speech said, "All should understand their roles and responsibilities and act according to their responsibilities. She also said, all Indians must exercise their voting rights.
The NSS volunteers and students presented various cultural and patriotic programs that portrayed their feelings of patriotism.
In the end, sweets were distributed to all the students and staff members.
