ORIENTATION PROGRAM

Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organised a one - day “Orientation Program” on 29th July 2017 with an objective to make the budding technocrats of the Twentieth B.Tech Batch (2017 - 2021) well acquainted with various labs, facilities as well as execution of academic planning.
Inaugurating the program Hon'ble Principal Prof. (Dr.) B.M.K. Prasad addressed all the students of first year acquainting them with the college environment and the academic execution. He also shared the futuristic vision in order to make the students more creative, skilled and employable. He further assured the budding technocrats at DCE, Gurgaon, they will not only learn technical education but also value education which occupies a prestigious place in the modern context of the contemporary society.
The Dean Academics Prof. (Dr.) Sri Krishan Yadav highlighted the achievements of the college and explained other activities like professional societies, entrepreneurship, NPTEL, Placement, Research & Publication Projects, Patents, University Merits and other achievements.
The Convener of the program, Prof. Sanghmitra V. Arora, HOD, Applied Sciences & Humanities Department imparted the relevant information related to discipline, assessment, e-learning, on-line certifications and subject experts, co-curricular activities as well as social activities prevailing in the college campus. She outlined some of the facilities available in college like Medical Cell, Women - Grievances Redress Cell, Information Resource Centre, Hostels etc. Reiterating that the campus has zero-tolerance of ragging, she shared as per strict directives of Supreme Court of India, UGC and AICTE, the Anti-Ragging Committee, under the supervision of the Registrar Prof. R. S. Kochhar has been formed to spread awareness in this regard among the students - fresher as well as seniors.
The students enjoyed a classical performance of flute by Pt. Rajendra Prsanna. It was a program conducted through the Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY). The program aimed to highlight the Indian heritage and value education that engages students in addressing real world challenges, issues important to humanity, and questions that affect them as individuals.
The Orientation Program ended with a vote of thanks delivered by the Convenor Prof. Sanghmitra V. Arora. She expressed gratitude to the Principal, Registrar, all HoDs, faculty members and students for every possible support in making the program a great success.
After these enlightening addresses, the students were taken around the college campus to acquaint them about the college facilities (Auditorium, Library, Medical Cell and Canteen) under the guidance of their class - counsellors.
The program was beneficial to the budding technocrats and their parents as they came to know more about academic ambience and several other opportunities provided by the college to the students.
