INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO
INSTITUTE OF TELECOM TECHNOLOGY & MANAGEMENT MTNL, NEW DELHI
Group of 40 students along with Mrs. Akanksha Kulshreshtha (Assistant Professor) from Electronics & Computer Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon visited ITTM (Institute of Telecom Technology & Management) -A unit of MTNL Delhi , Shadipur, New Delhi on 1st April 2015.
The objective of this visit was to show the practical implementation of routers and switches needed for setting up a large area network. This is related to the concepts of optical fiber communication, 2G, 3G communication, Broadband and routing etc.
Mr. Hari Om Arora, Manager, ITTM , Shadipur introduced the centre and its major role in the field of communication. Presenting on the courses and trainings offered by IITM, Mr. Jayant Choudhary, Faculty, ITTM talked about practical implementation of communication technologies particularly in fields like wireless communication, optical fiber communication, broadband etc. Mr. Rajesh Rajoria, Faculty, ITTM delivered a knowledgeable lecture on IP addressing, Reference model and its physical implementation. He also shared information on routers placed in that lab to give an overview of data packaging, OSI and TCP/IP.
During the visit to the labs like Transmission & FTTH Lab, IP Networking Lab, GSM Lab and Broadband Lab, Mr. Praveen Bhardwaj (Faculty, ITTM) took all the students to GSM Lab and showed them the FDM equipments. Further,he discussed about 2G and 3G connectivity, its practical available speed in India and scope to increase the speed.
The visit was informative where the students learnt various technical concepts related to communication, 2G, 3G communication, Broadband and routing etc.
