World AIDS Awareness Programme

NSS units, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram organized “The World AIDS Awareness Programme” on 1st December 2023 at Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram. The keynote speaker for the programme was Dr. Shelly a renowned HIV/AIDS expert. Prof. Pooja Sharma was the coordinator of the event. The programme was attended by students, faculty members and other stakeholders.
The programme was organized with the objective of spreading awareness about AIDS and its prevention, highlighting the importance of safety nets for HIV-positive individuals, and encouraging young people to get tested for HIV.
Prof. Pooja Sharma spoke about the history of AIDS, its transmission, and its prevention. She also emphasized the importance of safety nets for HIV-positive individuals, such as access to treatment, care, and support.
In addition to the keynote address, there were also panel discussions and workshops on various aspects of AIDS awareness and prevention. The panel discussions included discussions on the stigma associated with AIDS, the importance of early diagnosis and treatment, and the role of youth in the fight against AIDS. The workshops provided participants with information on how to protect themselves from HIV and how to support HIV-positive individuals.
