Workshop on CISCO India Networking Academy Conference 2015

A two day workshop on “CISCO India Networking Academy Conference 2015” was conducted by Cisco Networking Academy at Amity University, Noida on 23-24 September 2015. Mr. Amitesh Kumar, Assistant Professor fromInformation Technology Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the Conference.
The objective of this workshop was to train the Cisco Networking Academy instructors regarding the applications of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) for imparting technical knowledge in recent trends.
On the first day Ms. Anuradha Sharma, Program Manager, SIG Cisco Systems delivered the welcome speech, followed by the inauguration session by Dr. Sunil Kumar Khatri, Director, Amity Institute of Information Technology, Noida. Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, VC, AUUP lectured on the importance, objective of the workshop emphasizing on the continuous learning process. Dr. Ranjana Nagpal Deputy General, NIC was the Chief Guest for the event. She discussed the role of ICT in e-Governances projects and about the ongoing projects of e-governances.
The first session was conducted by Ms. Anuradha Sharma, where she updated the participants on the topic “Networking Academy & Curriculum Update 2015”. She gave a brief description of the various technologies being offered by CISCO to the students and instructors in the field of networking. The next session was conducted by Mr. B S Ananth, Technical Manager, Cisco Networking Academy on the topic of “Instructor Professional Development”. He emphasized on the fact that the industry is in need of skilled people in the field of Networking and that CISCO’s initiative is to produce readily employable Network Engineers. Mr. Shailesh Jadhav, ITC, CRISP took the third session where he discussed IPv6 for Dynamic Routing Protocols. Mr. Siddhartha Rajbhatt, ITC, CRISP took the fourth session on practical implementation of Layer 2 attack and port security.
The second day session commenced with the tool practice demonstration of “Site to Site connectivity using GRE and VPN” using packet tracer instructor version by Mr. Ananth B S. He explained the importance of Internet in common life and how it can be implemented in the future time. The next session was delivered by Mr. Sumit Ranjan, Consultant Systems Engineer, Cisco Systems on “MPLS & HSRP. He discussed how this routing protocol overcome the difficulties of previous routing protocols and become the most demanding protocol for industry. In the final session Mr. Mohit Makol, System Engineer, Cisco Systems delivered a talk on “Understanding OSPFv3”, where he discussed in details about the differences between v2 and v3 of OSPF and OSPFv3 implementation part.
The session was concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants and vote of thanks by Mr. Naresh Kumar, ASC, Amity University, Noida. He praised the initiatives taken by CISCO to bridge the gap between industry and academia.
