Awareness Program on Women's Safety

Over 30 girl students along with Dr. Anupam Dalal (NSS Programme Officer) of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram went to attend an awareness program on “Women's Safety” held at Gurugram University on 18th October, 2023. Women Development Cell (WDC) motivated the students at the college for active participation in the awareness program.
The program covered a wide range of topics related to women's safety:
- What is women's safety?
- Why is women's safety important?
- Common types of violence against women
- How to identify and prevent violence against women
- What to do if you are a victim of violence
The program also featured a panel discussion with experts on women's safety, including DCP Shri. Virender Vij and ACP Dr. Kavita (SHO of Gurugram Police and women's rights activist.) The panel discussion was lively and informative.
The students were also very active during the program. They shared their own experiences with violence and harassment. This showed that the students were passionate about women's safety and were willing to speak about it. The students also had the opportunity to ask questions and get advice from experts on women's safety.
Overall, the awareness program on women's safety was a success and provided valuable experience for the female students.
The students were engaged and interested in the topics covered and they learned a lot about safety measures and corrective steps to protect themselves. They also learned about the importance of women's safety, how to identify and prevent violence against women, and what to do if they are victims of violence.
