National Innovation Day Celebration
(Poster Presentation Competition)
15th October 2025
Institution Innovation Council (IIC), Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram celebrated National Innovation Day on 15th October 2025 to pay tribute to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the “Missile Man of India.” The event was organized to inspire creativity, promote innovation, and encourage students to generate ideas that can address real-world issues through the application of science and technology. It also emphasized the value of innovation as a driving force behind engineering progress and sustainable development.
The primary goal of the celebration was to nurture an innovative mindset and research-oriented approach among students by involving them in a Poster Presentation Competition. The competition provided a dynamic platform for students to display their technical knowledge, creativity, and innovative ideas related to themes such as technological progress, sustainable solutions, and social impact innovations.
Under the guidance of Prof. Pooja Sharma (IIC Head), the event saw enthusiastic participation from students across multiple engineering disciplines. A total of 12 teams comprising 28 students showcased their innovative posters featuring unique concepts, prototypes, and technological research ideas. Each group was allotted five minutes to present their design methodology, technical aspects, and the potential social impact of their innovation. The presentations covered a wide range of themes, including renewable energy, robotics, smart cities, automation, sustainable design, and AI–IoT applications.
A panel of judges comprising Dr. Ashima Mehta and Prof. Tamanna evaluated the entries based on innovation, technical soundness, feasibility, and clarity of presentation. Winners were awarded certificates and tokens of appreciation, while all participants received certificates of participation.
The event concluded with Prof. Pooja Sharma’s motivational remarks, encouraging students to pursue innovation as a continuous process and to contribute their creativity toward the advancement of technology and the nation.
