Essay Writing Competition on "World Population Day"

NSS Unit of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram celebrated “World Population Day” on 11th July, 2023. The theme for World Population Day 2023 was ‘Unleashing the power of gender equality: Uplifting the voices of women and girls to unlock our world's infinite possibilities’. 55 students of B.Tech 1st year participated in the celebration activities.
The celebration started with a motivational speech by Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh (NSS, PO). He throwed light upon the alarming situation of over population in the country. As part of the celebration, an essay writing competition took place in the seminar hall. The students were required to write essay in line with the theme of the celebration. The judges of the competition were Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh and Prof. Pooja Sharma. The students were given time duration of 1 hour to complete the essay and were required to write a slogan as well. All students actively participated in the competition.
The programme concluded by singing National Anthem.
