AKASHVANI" Celebration of INDIA'S PRESIDENCY G-20

The Akashvani Celebration of India’s Presidency was a grand cultural extravaganza held at Akashvani Delhi, on 21st July, 2023 showcasing a diverse array of regional art forms from different parts of the country. The event was organized to celebrate India’s presidency in the G-20 group of nations and aimed to promote and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the country. Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram participated under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) BMK Prasad (Director, DCE) and Prof. (Dr.) Isha Malhotra (Principal, DCE) Students participated in the event under the guidance of NSS Coordinator Dr. Anupam Dalal and faculty member Dr. Vimla Yadav.
The evening commenced with a soul-stirring Saraswati Vandana, an invocation to Goddess Saraswati, the patron deity of arts, knowledge, and music. The mesmerizing rendition was performed by the talented artists of Akashvani, Delhi, led by Shri Bholanath Mishra, a staff artist. The second segment of the event featured an enchanting orchestral performance, titled “Vadya Vrind” The orchestra team, led by Shri Johar Ali, another accomplished staff artist from Akashvani Delhi, showcased a mesmerizing display of musical brilliance. Their synchronization and harmonious blend of various musical instruments captivated the audience, leaving them in awe. The third segment brought the vibrant Rajasthani folk music to the stage. Daya Ram Bhat and his talented party enthralled the spectators with their soulful renditions of traditional Rajasthani folk songs. The performance beautifully captured the essence of Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage and left the audience tapping their feet to the lively beats. The event continued with a delightful presentation of the Folk Music of Uttarakhand, showcasing the musical diversity of the Kumauni, Garhwali, Jaunsari Lokgeet, and Sugam Sangeet genres. The UPRETI SISTERS, renowned ‘A’ grade artists of Akashvani, Dehradun, charmed the audience with their melodious voices. The final performance of the evening was a visual treat as Laxman Singh Pangati and his troupe presented the Traditional Chhaliya Dance of Uttarakhand. The graceful movements, colorful attire, and rhythmic dance steps showcased the rich cultural heritage of Pithoragarh, leaving the audience spellbound.
The cultural diversity on display brought people from various regions of India together, fostering a sense of unity and pride in the country’s artistic heritage.
