One Week "National Integration Camp" at Kurukshetra University
25th - 31st July 2023
The Department of Higher Education, Haryana organized a “National Integration Camp” at Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra for one week from 25th July to 31st July, 2023. NSS volunteers from fifteen states including Haryana State participated in the National Camp. 2 NSS volunteers of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram - Jatin Yadav (25073, CSE- 2nd Year) and Gourav Yadav (25053, CSE- 2nd Year) participated in National Integration Camp. They participated in various activities.
First day of the Camp (25.07.2023):
On 25th July, the inaugural program started under the guidance of Dr. Anand (Coordinator Officer) and all other Program Officers around 2:00 pm by lighting the lamp. He addressed the students about the importance of NSS in conserving the cultural heritage and the development in rural areas. He said that the youths are in the imaginary world and they are not realizing their own potential. The NIC may help them to realize their responsibility towards society.
Second day of the Camp (26.07.2023):
The second day of NSS Camp commenced with the same ritual of the invocation of the NSS song and various yogic asanas. The theme for the second day, ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ was in the tribute of Kargil Vijay Diwas (26th July, 2023). In the second session various sports activities were held.
Third day of the Camp (27.07.2023):
The camp activities commenced at 6 a.m. in the morning. The day started with the invocation of the NSS song followed by practicing various yoga poses like, Suryanamaskar, Bhujangasana, and many more. The yoga trainer not only helped volunteers with the poses but also mentioned the importance of yoga and its benefits in various aspects of our life. The second session was a poetry competition in which the student volunteers were expected to present their prepared poems keeping in mind the theme of the day. The evening began with exquisite performances depicting the culture all over the country like Haryanvi folk dance, Marathi Lavni, Gujarati Garba, and much more.
Fourth day of the Camp (28.07.2023):
The fourth day of the camp began with a site visit to the campus of Kurukshetra University (the Dharohar.) Here, everyone saw the traditional culture of Haryana and after that all headed towards the campus. The second session was a SKIT/Play Mono Acting and there was a cultural event of states like Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Telangana.
The Fifth day of the camp (29.07.2023):
The fifth day of the camp began with a site visit of the campus of Kurukshetra University (Brahma Sarowar) and after that all went back to the campus and there was a session of interaction with dignitaries. The second session was a sports activity in which there were many sports like push and pull game, lemon spoon race, etc. Afterwards, there was a cultural event of states of Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, New Delhi and Kerala.
Sixth day of the camp (30.07.2023):
The sixth day of the camp began with solo and group dance competition along with a solo instrumental music competition followed by a session meant for interaction with dignitaries. The second session began with the sports activity and there was a cultural event which depicted culture and tradition of every state.
Seventh day of the camp (31.07.2023):
In the first session of the last day, students welcomed the Home Minister of Uttar Pradesh, B.L. Verma who had an interaction with the volunteers. In The Second session, the valedictory function took place. Dr. Anand and his team announced the names of the winners. The chief guest of the day awarded winners with trophies and certificates.
The camp was very useful for the NSS volunteers as all the volunteers developed unity, team spirit, physical fitness, discipline, patience, integration, cooperation through participating in various activities.
