NSS Units, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram organized “Yuva Samvad India @2047” on 24th July, 2023. 85 Students participated in the celebration activity.
The event aimed to provide a platform for the youth to engage in meaningful discussions, exchange ideas, and foster a sense of social responsibility and community service. The event was graced by distinguished personalities, including Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Yogi, (Dean of Faculty of Law and Humanities) at Gurugram University, and Professor Dr. Vijay Mehta, (NSS Coordinator) at Gurugram University.
The event commenced with lamp lightning in the presence of Prof.(Dr.) BMK Prasad (Director, DCE), Prof.(Dr.) Isha Malhotra (Principal, DCE), Faculty Members, NSS event coordinators and enthusiastic students. Dr. Anupam Dalal (NSS Programme Officer) gave a powerful welcome speech and throwed light on the importance of NSS and YUVA Samvad.
The event featured interactive sessions and panel discussions that provided a platform for the students to share their experiences, ideas, and suggestions for community development. The conversation started with Muskan Yadav delivering her view points on the goal of developed India. Various topics including PANCH PRAN as well as the importance of Yuva portal were also discussed. The discussions were moderated by faculty members and encouraged healthy debates on various social issues, environmental concerns, and ways to address them effectively.
Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Yogi, in his keynote address, lauded the efforts of NSS volunteers and stressed the need for collective action to bring about significant social change. He encouraged the students to engage in innovative and sustainable community projects that can have a lasting impact. Dr. Yogi also emphasized the role of education in nurturing empathy and compassion, which are essential qualities for responsible citizens. The Chief Guest, Professor Dr. Rakesh Yogi, delivered a motivating speech, emphasizing the significance of youth involvement in community development and nation-building. He praised the NSS initiative for its efforts to nurture responsible citizens and encouraged the students to take up social causes actively.
Afterwards, Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Mehta took the stage to share some remarkable achievements of NSS volunteers. He highlighted various initiatives undertaken by the NSS team, including cleanliness drives, blood donation camps, awareness campaigns, and skill development workshops. The audience was impressed by the commitment and dedication shown by the NSS volunteers in making a positive impact on society.
During the event, outstanding NSS volunteers were felicitated for their exceptional contributions and dedication towards various social service initiatives.
The highlight of the NSS Yuva Samvad Celebration was the tree plantation drive that marked at the end of the event. Following the enriching discussions and speeches, all the participants, including students, faculty, and guests, gathered at the designated location on the college campus for the tree plantation activity. The NSS volunteers had meticulously arranged a variety of saplings to be planted, considering the local climate and ecological conditions. The participants were divided into groups, each led by an NSS volunteer, who guided them through the tree plantation process. The students, in particular, showed great zeal and determination to contribute to environmental conservation. They dug holes, planted saplings, watered them, and carefully added mulch to ensure the saplings' healthy growth.
The event concluded on a positive note by Dr. Ashok Kumar (NSS Program Officer) with participants and attendees pledging to continue their active involvement in NSS initiatives and take the learnings from the event to create a more inclusive and compassionate society.
