Industrial Visit to Yakult Danone India Pvt. Ltd.

Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE), Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram organized an Industrial visit to “Yakult Danone India”, Sonipat Haryana on 23^rd February, 2024. Students of B.Tech CSE, CSIT and AIML (1^st and 2^nd Year) and ME (1^st Year)  visited Yakult Danone India Pvt. Ltd. The students were accompanied by Mr. Naveen Rathi (Faculty, DCE.)

The objective of the visit was to familiarize the students with the various operations undertaken at the plant. The visit was well organized by Ms. Swati Yadav (Asst. Manager HR, Yakult Danone.) and students had a good exposure about the automation process at Yakult. 

The team of Yakult welcomed the DCE students followed with the presentation by Ms. Swati Yadav. She introduced the students with the history of organization and technical details of the product. It was followed by a tour of production line, wherein students learned about the various stages of production and packaging. Students got a brief of various stages of production such as seed room, preparation of probiotic, R&D and quality checking. Students carefully observed the process of preparing probiotic, its labeling and packaging. Students were also offered a welcome drink by Yakult.

Benefits/Outcome: Students understood the various operations undertaken at the plant. Students gained firsthand insight into the production and packaging process of probiotics. They also learned about international standards like ISO certifications and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
