7-Day University Level NSS Camp at Maharshi Markandeshwar University, Mullana, Ambala (HR)
28th January - 3rd February 2025
5 NSS Volunteers (Jaiveer - 26298, Kashish - 26446, Diksha Joshi – 26437, Tarun Yadav – 26412 and Naveen Yadav - 26333) along with Dr. Anupam Dalal (NSS, PO), Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram participated in the 7-Day University Level NSS Camp at Maharshi Markandeshwar University, Mullana, Ambala, Haryana from 28th January – 3rd February 2025.
The camp aimed to:
- Foster a sense of national unity and social responsibility among youth.
- Enhance leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Provide a platform for cultural exchange and interaction with students from different backgrounds.
- Engage in community service activities and contribute to social development.
The camp encompassed a diverse range of activities, including: Community Service, Cultural Programs, participation in cultural performances, showcasing the rich heritage of Haryana. Interaction with local artists and artisans was the key highlight of the camp. Workshops on leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills were conducted by the experts during the camp. Group discussions and interactive sessions on social issues were organized for the participants. The camp also consisted yoga and meditation sessions to promote physical and mental well-being.
Day 1 – Arrival and Cultural Program
- Arrival and Registration: The volunteers arrived and went through the registration process.
- Cultural Program: The NSS volunteers of Maharishi Markandeshwar (DU) showcased a cultural performance, setting the tone for the camp.
Day 2 – Youth Empowerment & Competitions
- Morning Routine: The day began with a Prabhat Feri (morning rally), followed by exercise and meditation.
- Lecture Session: Dr. Manish delivered an insightful lecture on "Youth Empowerment."
- Competitions: A poster-making competition took place, encouraging creativity.
- Cultural Performances: The day concluded with solo dancing and group singing performances.
Day 3 – Village Visit & Lectures
- Morning Routine: The usual Prabhat Feri with exercise and meditation.
- Village Visit: Volunteers visited the village of Sohana, where they performed a Nukkad Natak (street play) and held a rally on "Youth Empowerment."
- Lectures: Dr. Poonam Bharti delivered a session on "Drug Abuse and Addiction." Dr. Munishwar discussed about "Stress Management."
- Cultural Program: The day ended with more cultural performances, including dancing and singing.
Day 4 – Skits and Discussions
- Morning Routine: As usual, the day began with Prabhat Feri, exercise, and meditation.
- Lectures: Dr. Rakesh Khana and Dr. Deepak Gupta shared their thoughts on relevant topics.
- Skit Performance: Volunteers performed skits on important issues such as life without technology, drug abuse, and ragging, sparking thought-provoking discussions.
Day 5 – Village Visit & Focus Session
- Village Visit: Volunteers visited SRKpur for a Nukkad Natak and rally focused on "Youth Empowerment" and "Plastic-Free Bharat."
- Session by Dr. Sharad: A session on how to protect oneself from distractions, maintaining focus, and avoiding evil influences.
Day 6 – Sports & Competitions
Sports Events: The day was filled with fun and competitive spirit through events like tug-of-war, volleyball, and a treasure hunt.
Rangoli Competition: The theme of the Rangoli competition was "Ancient Bharat," showcasing the volunteers' creativity and artistic skills.
Day 7 – Farewell & Prize Distribution
- Final Day Interaction: Volunteers had a chance to interact with Dr. Anuj Malik.
- Valedictory Session & Prize Distribution: The camp concluded with a heartwarming farewell ceremony and prize distribution. Jaiveer bagged gold medalin Volleyball and third prize in solo singing.
Volunteers formed strong bonds during the camp, making it difficult to say goodbye. The experience left everyone with fond memories and lasting friendships.
The camp provided a platform for learning and also about community building, cultural exchange, and personal growth. The volunteers participated in educational sessions, village visits, cultural performances, and sports competitions, making it a well-rounded and unforgettable experience.
The camp provided a valuable learning experience for the participating volunteers. They gained a deeper understanding of social issues, developed essential life skills, and fostered a sense of camaraderie and national unity.
Benefits/Outcome: The camp provided a platform to contribute to society, develop valuable skills, and emerge as responsible and engaged citizens.
