All Women National Integration Camp, Jammu
3rd - 9th January 2025
Dr. Anupam Dalal of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram appointed as Contingent in-charge to accompany the NSS Volunteers who are participating in All Women National Integration Camp at GCW Parade Ground, Jammu from 03 to 09 January, 2025.
“All Women National Integration Camp (NIC)” organized under the aegis of NSS Regional Directorate, Delhi, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India, Higher Education Department, on the theme “Women Empowerment and Emancipation” symbolizing “Nari Shakti” at PSPS, GCW, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu from 3rd – 9th January 2025. The camp aimed to foster a sense of national unity and understanding among young women from diverse backgrounds. The week-long program included a mix of academic sessions, cultural activities, sports events, and social engagement activities.
Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education, Shri Shantmanu, inaugurated the event which was jointly organized by National Service Scheme (NSS), Government College for Women, Parade and Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government PG College Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Professor KS Chandra Sekar (VC Cluster University of Jammu) was the Guest of Honor on the occasion.
The National Integration Camp is an annual event conducted as a part of National Service Scheme (NSS) to promote national unity, communal harmony and inclusive spirit among the youth of India. The mega event brought together participants from diverse cultural, linguistic and geographical backgrounds, highlighting the country’s rich diversity and collective identity.
About 200 volunteers from different contingents of 20 different States and UTs along with their program officers came together to share their cultures and celebrated the spirit of India. During the camp they experienced meaningful interactions with other participants taking the opportunity to learn about their languages and culture, thereby promoting mutual understanding and respect.
In the inaugural address, Mr. Shantmanu emphasized the importance of National Integration and Youth Empowerment in strengthening the nation. He stressed that NSS encourages individuals to actively participate in various initiatives that address the pressing needs of the society. Whether, it be through education outreach, environmental conservation, or health awareness campaigns, their involvement has the potential to make a profound impact, he added.
Dr Sheikh Ajaz Wazir (SNO) stated that NSS has been a beacon of aspiration, creativity and service in our community and it is a platform that embodies the spirit of selfless service among the youth.
Day 1: 3rd January 2025
The first day started with breakfast and registration of all volunteers. After registration, everyone reached the auditorium for inaugural ceremony of the camp. After the ceremony and a short break, the participants gathered at GCW parade Ground for an intellectual session. The chief guest Dr. Rashmi Singh (President Commissioner), J&K Delhi, enlightened the volunteers about women empowerment and addressed their queries. Thereafter, a memento was presented to the chief guest, making the conclusion of the session. The day was concluded with a night, organized at GCW Gandhi Nagar and the volunteers performed group dance.
Day 2: 4th January 2025
On the second day of the women's camp, the day began with wakeup activities. A yoga session was conducted before breakfast. After breakfast, participants proceed to the GCW parade Ground where sports competitions were organized. In tug of war competition, contingent Kashmir secured the first and second position. After the competitions, there was a short rest period followed by lunch at parade ground. Post lunch everyone assembled in the conference hall at parade ground for the intellectual session. Dr. Bindu Sangra (Assistant Professor, Law School, Jammu University) was the chief guest of the day. She explained self-defense and self-confidence to the volunteers with examples. She also answered their queries. The session continued with Dr. Rajendra Kumar from Delhi, and shared insight related to defense strategies and marked the conclusion of the intellectual session. Subsequently, Haryana and other states perform their folk dance and represented their culture.
Day 3: 5th January 2025
On the third day the day began with wakeup activities. A Zumba session was conducted after breakfast, participants reached parade ground where sports and poetry/essay writing competitions were organized. Haryana actively participated in badminton and poetry/essay writing competition. Then, everyone gathered in the conference hall at parade Ground for the intellectual session. The first segment of session focused on my Bharat Portal and the second covered CV builder. The chief guest for the day was Kul Munish Jasrotia. After the intellectual session, preparations and performances for the cultural program took place. Five states participated in the event.
Day 4: 6th January 2025
On the fourth day, the day began with wakeup activity and yoga session. Afterwards, the participants reached at parade ground where a debate competition was organized. Volunteers of Haryana Team actively participated in the event. Thereafter, everyone gathered in the hall at parade Ground for the intellectual session. The first segment of session focused on self-defense with Dr. Preeti Chaudhary (Uthghosh Mission) as the chief guest.
The second segment was a discussion on business led by the guest Dr. Neeti Shekhar. After the intellectual session, participants prepared for the cultural program where five states participated in the event including J&K team.
Day 5: 7th January 2025
On the fifth day, the day began with wakeup activities and Zumba session. Also a sports competition was organized at Mansar Lake Garden, Doege ball, where Haryana contingent actively participated. After completion everyone had a cleanness drive of two hours at Mansar Lake.
Day 6: 8th January 2025
The sixth day began at 5:30 AM with wakeup activities. Zumba session was conducted. Participants visited the museum where they explored the art gallery and viewed various paintings, including those depicting the history of Jammu.
Afterward they proceeded to Parade Ground, where the Chief Guest Dr Arunlma Sinha (senior faculty of art and living), delivered a session on mind management and shared insight related to mind wellbeing followed by a defence session, providing participants with knowledge about defense strategies· Next a lemon race competition was held, where two volunteers from Haryana contingent participated and represented team Kashmir and secured second position in lemon race competition.
Day 7: 9th January 2025
On the seventh day, the closing ceremony began, with the honorable Chief Minister of J&K Mr Omar Abdullah as the Chief Guest. He congratulated all the states and distributed mementos and certificates. Ms Sakina ltoo (Minister of Higher Education) was the Guest of Honor for the occasion. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of awards.
