Trip to Nainital
6TH – 9TH November 2015
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized a trip to Jim Corbett and Nainitial for 53 final year students, accompanied by faculty member, Mr. Surender Dhaka, Assistant Professor.
The students reported at the pickup location and the team started off for the trip. On reaching Nainital the team was accommodated at the hotel rooms allotted for them. After refreshing the team headed for the Jim Corbett National Park. The trip included safari in the Jim Corbett National Park, where the students had been through various breeds of deer and elephants.
Jim Corbett National Park, is a part of the larger Corbett Tiger Reserve. The magical landscape of Corbett is well known and fabled for its tiger richness. During this trip students were told that the tiger reserve also has Otters, crocodile and is one of the best places for bird watching. Corbett and its adjoining area is a home to more than 650 species of residents and migratory birds. Established in the year 1936 as Hailey National Park, Corbett has the glory of being India’s oldest and most prestigious National Park.
The second day of the trip comprised of trip to Nainital and boating in the Naini Lake. The students enjoyed the vibrant Mall road. Nainital is also known as 'Lake Paradise' for its beautiful 'lakes'.
On the third day the team went for sight - seeing. They visited some of the places such as China Peak, Naina Devi Temple, Hanuman Garhi, Dorothy's Seat, Snow View Point and Raj Bhawan. They also visited Nainital Zoo that homes toHimalayan black bears, snow leopards and steppe eagles along with many other animal species.
On the last day of the trip students enjoyed themselves in the nearby places. The team then started for their way back. It was overall a very enriching and refreshing experience for the students.
