Swachhta Pakhwada
1st - 15th August 2018
NSS Unit of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram organized “Swachhta Pakhwada” from 1st – 15th August, 2018. The drive was organized within the college premises and in the nearby areas. 40 NSS volunteers participated in the campaign.
The campaign was observed to promote cleanliness and hygiene. The campaign focuses on creating awareness about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene and to adopt sustainable cleanliness practices.
The theme for Swachhta Pakhwada changes every year and is designed to highlight specific areas of concern and to promote the importance of cleanliness and hygiene. During the 15-day campaign, various activities were organized by the college, including cleanliness drives, workshops, and public awareness campaigns.

1st August, 2018
|
One day seminar on Swachhta was organized by the NSS Unit in the college. NSS Coordinator addressed the NSS Volunteers on the various issues of Swachhta. The event ended with the Swachhta Shapath (Oath) by all the NSS Volunteers.

2nd - 5th August, 2018
|
All the NSS Units devoted four days for cleaning the campus. They ensured that they cleaned each and every part of their campus like classrooms, libraries, auditoriums ,laboratories, playgrounds, lawns, roads etc.

6th - 8th August, 2018
|
During this duration, the NSS Volunteers visited the adopted village (Patli, Khentawas) and undertook door to door campaign to make the local masses aware about the importance of cleanliness in their surroundings. The villagers were told about the importance of constructing the toilets in their premises and also to make use of them.

9th - 10th August, 2018
|
NSS Unit devoted two days for intensive cleaning of the adopted villages/slums. Efforts will be made to involve local people so that they understand the dignity of labour and develop a habit of keeping their surroundings clean.

11th - 14th August, 2018
|
NSS Volunteers organized a plantation drive in the nearby villages and also aroused the locals towards the issues like global warming, deforestation, etc.

15th August, 2018
|
NSS Unit organized rallies in the nearby villages by depicting various messages of cleanliness on banners and placards to create awareness amongst the masses.
