Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon in association with Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad organized “Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp” from 23rd - 25th August, 2018.
The objective of the program was to give students a learning environment and help them indulge in activities that would motivate them to face real world challenges.
DAY 1 (23th August,2018): CLASSROOM ACTIVITY:
Entrepreneurship Development Cell organized an orientation program for first and second year students on 23rd August, 2018. The program was initiated by Ms. Harshita, (Student Coordinator EDC).
The event primarily focused on educating the students on the importance of development of entrepreneurial skills, and the usage of the aforementioned in practical environment.
The orientation program explained the various aspects of the prestigious Wadhwani Foundation, in helping students to establish their own startups and motivating the students to ‘discover’ their interests and to enhance projects for students with start-ups so that they can gain a first-hand knowledge of the challenges faced by an entrepreneur, shadowing an entrepreneur, initiating an entrepreneur in residence by educational institutions, and start-up job fairs in both, under graduate & post graduate institutions would be helpful, including a large experiential learning content in the facilitation of the subject would be useful, instead of having an examination. Creation of campus companies would improve learning.
Ms. Harshita also spoke about the courses available on the foundation’s platform ‘Learnwise’ in detail where she explained the Entrepreneurship courses which enable students with basics of everything involved in running a company. Skill training courses equip job-seekers with requisite employability and soft skills to find jobs and excel in various roles across verticals. All activity on the platform is recorded and summarized as reports and dashboards so the faculty, students as well as the management of the partner institutes can track progress and measure the impact of the training programs. All content and platform features are accessible in the browser and also on mobile as an Android application. iOS users can use the mobile website in the browser. A separate Windows application is provisioned for Faculty to conduct training which can be really helpful for the young startups who are in their initiation period. Lastly she urged the students to come forward to participate in the E-cell activities.
The activity proved to be highly beneficial for all students who are aspiring to be the part of the National entrepreneurship Network Program.
Day (24th August,2018):GUEST LECTURE:
EDC of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram organized guest lecture on “Ethical Hacking” for the students of 2nd and 3rd year on 24th August 2018. The lecture was conducted in the guidance of the facilitator Mrs. Megha Goel and the Entrepreneurship Development Cell E-leaders Harshita Singh, Monika and Pankaj. The guest lecture was delivered by Col. R.S Dubey.
Col. R.S Dubey explained students basic meaning of ethical hacking and discussed various types of hacking & hackers and the need for cyber security. He told that there are three types of hackers: Black Hat Hackers, White Hat Hackers and Grey Hat Hackers.
Speaker also informed various career opportunities in the area of Ethical Hacking & Cyber Security and the openings regarding the same in government sector, banks, software development, online shopping portal etc.
Overall session was proven to be inspiring and informative for the students.
Day 3 (25th August 2018):Industrial Visits to HUAWEI:
EDC (Entrepreneurship Development Cell), Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized an industrial visit to “HUAWEI” on 25th August 2018.Mr. Anil Kumar(Assistant Professor, Computer Science Department) along with 40 students went for the visit . The visit was initiated by COL. R.S Dubey and Archana Dubey
The objective of the visit was to teach the basics of networking and telecommunication to students and to practically show them the technology used behind it.
