NEP 2020 Framework: A Strategic Approach for Academic Excellence”

Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram organized a Technical Session on “The NEP 2020 Framework: A Strategic Approach for Academic Excellence” on 5th December 2025 for all faculty members. The session was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Vikram Singh from J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA. The objective was to equip faculty with a comprehensive understanding of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and its strategic significance in enhancing academic quality.
During the session, Prof. (Dr.) Vikram Singh discussed practical and actionable strategies for integrating NEP 2020 principles into everyday academic practices. He explained how flexible curriculum structures, experiential and research-based learning, and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) can be adopted to improve learning outcomes. Faculty members engaged in discussions on implementing these practices in lesson planning, assessment design, teaching methodologies, academic policy frameworks, and student support systems.
The session was organized in the context of the evolving needs of Indian higher education, where institutions are expected to adapt to the transformative reforms proposed under NEP 2020.It also highlighted the importance of redesigning teaching practices, curriculum structure, and assessment strategies to improve academic standards, enhance student engagement, and support holistic learning.
The enthusiastic participation of faculty members showed their interest in understanding the practical implications of NEP 2020. Many participants expressed that the session provided greater clarity on multidisciplinary learning, flexible curriculum implementation, and outcome-based teaching. Positive feedback and active engagement throughout the session demonstrated the faculty’s motivation to redesign teaching practices in line with national education standards and to incorporate strategies that enhance the overall teaching–learning environment.
The session concluded with key recommendations for institutions seeking to implement NEP 2020 successfully. These included conducting regular training programs for faculty, forming internal committees for NEP implementation, collaborating with universities and industry partners for skill-based and experiential learning, integrating technology-enabled teaching tools, and establishing continuous feedback mechanisms to refine teaching practices.
