Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025 Grand Finale
8th - 12th December, 2025
The Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025, organized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, in collaboration with AICTE, the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), and the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, is India’s flagship national-level innovation and problem-solving competition. The Grand Finale of SIH 2025 was held from 8th to 12th December 2025, bringing together the country’s most innovative student teams to develop impactful technology-driven solutions through both Hardware and Software editions.
Dronacharya College of Engineering marked a proud moment by achieving a remarkable milestone, with Five teams qualifying for and participating in the SIH 2025 Grand Finale. This outstanding achievement reflects the institution’s strong focus on innovation, experiential learning, and technical excellence. The teams represented the college at prestigious nodal centres across India, competing under rigorous timelines and evaluations by national-level experts, academicians, and industry professionals.
Team Core Cutter represented Dronacharya College of Engineering in the Hardware Edition at VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad, Telangana. The team was led by Shreya Kumari, with Vidushi Anand, Dev Rao, BN Vernika, Bhavesh, and Yash Jaiswal as team members, under the mentorship of Prof. Kanika Lamba. The team successfully demonstrated their innovative hardware solution and technical proficiency during the evaluation process.
Another Hardware Edition team, Khagesvara, competed at the nodal centre in Vadodara, Gujarat. Led by Tanishq Verma and guided by Prof. Ashwani Katoch, the team included Ariyan Pal, Divyanshu Yadav, Khushboo, Yash Sharma, and Chandarshekhar Gupta. The team showcased strong problem-solving abilities and collaborative engineering skills throughout the competition.
Team Design Paradox represented the college in the Hardware Edition at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee. The team was led by Yash Soni, with Naveen, Lakshit Dawar, Deepali, Samiksha Bisht, and Abhishek Soni as members, and was mentored by Dr. Ankit Agarwal. Their participation highlighted innovative design thinking and effective implementation of engineering concepts.
In the Software Edition, Team Ctrl_Alt_Elite represented Dronacharya College of Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu. The team was led by Rishabh Singh Rawat, with team members Satyam K. Mishra, Diksha, Akshat Sharma, Shubhamm Kumaar, and Aman Negi, under the mentorship of Prof. Vimmi Malhotra. The team developed and presented a robust software solution, demonstrating strong analytical and programming capabilities.
The fifth team, Arcana, participated in the Hardware Edition at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, West Bengal. Led by Anup Kumar Pandey and mentored by Dr. Sandeep Raj, the team comprised Ayush Dangwal, Kumari Anshu, Kartik Sharma, Arpita Kukreja, and Parth Sharma. The team showcased a functional hardware prototype and effectively presented their solution to the jury and experts.
Throughout the five-day Grand Finale, the teams engaged in intensive ideation, development, testing, and presentation of their solutions, gaining invaluable exposure to real-world problem-solving, innovation ecosystems, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Interaction with mentors, industry experts, and evaluators enriched the learning experience and enhanced the students’ professional competencies.
The successful participation of Five teams from Dronacharya College of Engineering at the Smart India Hackathon 2025 Grand Finale stands as a testament to the institution’s commitment to fostering innovation, research, and skill-based education. This achievement not only brings national recognition to the college but also inspires future student innovators to pursue excellence and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s technological advancement.
