Motivational session on“Practical Applications of Bhagwad Gita”
5th December 2025
Applied Science Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, in collaboration with the DCE Yog Club, organized an inspiring motivational session titled “Practical Applications of Bhagwad Gita” on 5th December 2025, led by Shri Rameshwar Giridhari Das from ISKCON Gurugram. The session focused on helping students manage academic pressure, overcome stress, and adopt a balanced approach toward studies, examinations, and personal development by blending spiritual wisdom from the Bhagwad Gita with practical psychological insights, encouraging self-reflection on daily habits, emotional challenges, and long-term goals, and motivating students to cultivate inner strength, mental clarity, and a positive outlook toward life and learning.
The program motivated students to adopt a positive mindset, build resilience in challenging situations, and recognize the importance of self-management practices such as effective time management, disciplined routines, balanced diet, and mental well-being. As part of the initiative, students were also provided with copies of the Shrimad Bhagwad Gita, and many registered for a specially designed ISKCON course focused on managing study-related pressure and enhancing productivity.
Shri Rameshwar Giridhari Das conducted the session in an engaging and relatable manner, using real-life examples from student experiences to explain deeper concepts. His calm yet energetic approach created an interactive learning environment, encouraging active participation from students. The speaker addressed key topics such as the root causes of academic pressure - including expectations, comparison, fear of failure, and lack of clarity - while emphasizing the role of the mind as either a supportive ally or a major obstacle. Practical strategies were shared to manage distractions, reduce excessive screen time, overcome procrastination, and follow disciplined routines using effective time-management techniques.
The session also highlighted the importance of developing positive habits and maintaining emotional control during stressful situations, particularly examinations. Students were introduced to simple yet effective methods such as breathing exercises, meditation, chanting, and reflective practices to improve concentration and inner stability. The speaker stressed that consistent small efforts lead to long-term success and that spiritual grounding can significantly enhance focus and emotional strength.
Students responded enthusiastically to the session, appreciating the clarity and simplicity of the concepts discussed. Many actively participated by asking questions related to exam anxiety, parental expectations, lack of confidence, and stress management. The distribution of the Shrimad Bhagwad Gita was received with great interest, and students were encouraged to read even a few verses daily to cultivate a positive mindset. A significant number of students registered for the ISKCON-designed course, reflecting their willingness to apply the learnings beyond the session.
Through the session, students gained valuable insights into understanding and managing academic pressure, recognizing that stress is often intensified by internal fears. They learned practical techniques to reduce anxiety, enhance study efficiency, and maintain a healthy lifestyle that supports overall academic performance. Overall, the motivational session proved to be highly impactful for the students, as it blended spiritual teachings with practical life strategies to promote holistic growth.
