The objective of the fair was to get the students involved in National Science Centre’s research activity where they got a chance to meet experts of diverse fields, especially in Micro/Nano Electronic related Scientist & Technocrats.
The National Science Centre, Delhi is a unit of the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), which is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Culture of the Government of India. It is a pioneering institute engaged in the popularisation of science among the people of the northern part of India in general and among the students in particular. Two projects from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon were selected in two different categories decided by the Jury. Projects were selected in category A which were innovations as working prototype and.in category B to the projects which are innovations in initial stage.
  - Advanced Health Care Monitoring System
The project was presented by Akansha Marwah (16762) from VIII Sem under the guidance of mentor Ms. Parul Bansal (Assistant Professor). The project aims to provide Health Care Services for people of all age groups. The health care services are hard to be provided to elder people daily because they cannot visit the doctors frequently and now a days, many elder people live away from their children which poses the need for a device that can monitor their health at all times. Along with that in villages there are less Health Care Services that becomes a major issue as the machines or equipment are not available. All the health parameters like temperature, Blood pressure, pulse rate, asthematic problems, fainting due to some problem, humidity etc. can be measured with this device. This health care system is a system that can be kept at home as a kit or can be worn as a band according to a particular person in need after the prototype is compressed. This project was selected in category A.
  - Advanced Medical Disperser
The project was presented by ShubhamRauthan (17777)from VI Sem under the guidance of Ms. Parul Bansal. Advanced medical disperser is a machine built to support the social cause. The project proposes a dispenser machine which contain medicine and have emergency alert system. The project can be installed on the highways so that in case of any emergency, basic medications can be obtained through the machine. This project was selected in category B.
The students presented and demonstrated the working of their project and competed against 32 other projects from colleges, companies, schools. The projects were then shortlisted and judged by experts on the basis of innovation, feasibility, working, cost, idea and scope of the project.
The results for the project demonstration were announced during the award ceremony in the presence of Chief Guest, Prof. Harinder P. Singh. (Director, Cluster Innovation Centre, Delhi University). During his address he discussed about the importance of Innovation and the benefits of joining the cluster innovation club.
The project “Advanced Health Care Monitoring System” presented by Akansha (16762) bagged best innovation in the competition. The fair was great learning experience for all participants.
The visit was a good learning experience for the students and they got a glimpse of the current trends in technology and working prototypes of projects.
