Indian Army Day

NSS Cell of Dronacharya College of Engineering (DCE), Gurugram, observed Indian Army Day on 15th January 2026 to honor the bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment of the Indian Army. The celebration was organized with the objective of instilling patriotism among students and acknowledging the selfless service of the soldiers who tirelessly protect the nation’s borders and uphold its sovereignty.
The program began with a solemn tribute to the martyrs, remembering the supreme sacrifices made by Indian soldiers in the service of the nation. NSS volunteers actively participated in the event, which included a documentary screening showcasing the history, achievements, and valour of the Indian Army. A poster-making activity themed “Guardians of the Nation” was also organized, allowing students to creatively express their gratitude and respect for the armed forces.
The celebration was conducted under the theme “Saluting the Real Heroes,” emphasizing the core values of courage, discipline, and resilient service that define the Indian Army. Through these activities, students were inspired by the dedication and determination of soldiers, reinforcing a sense of national pride and responsible citizenship.
To further engage the students, several competitions were organized as part of the celebration. These included a quiz competition to test participants’ knowledge of the history and achievements of the Indian Armed Forces, a patriotic singing competition as a musical tribute to the nation, and a patriotic poem competition that encouraged students to express their reverence through creative writing. Students from all branches actively participated in these events after registering with their name, roll number, and branch details through the official participation portal.
NSS Cell also paid special tribute to the Indian Army for their service under the most challenging and demanding conditions.Overall, the Indian Army Day celebration at Dronacharya College of Engineering successfully instilled a strong sense of patriotism and respect for the armed forces among the students. By combining educational, cultural, and creative activities, the event reinforced the spirit of “Jai Hind” across the campus and reminded everyone of the peace and freedom enjoyed by the nation due to the sacrifices of its real heroes.
